Cancer in the Workplace DVD & Booklet
Project Description
Macmillan Cancer Support commissioned Heehaw to produce a resource for employers to gain a better understanding of cancer in the workplace. The resource features a booklet and a DVD. The DVD, which is introduced by Sir Tom Farmer, consists of 5 different ‘workplace’ scenarios.
These ‘drama’ scenarios examine cancer-related issues in the workplace such as ‘breaking the news’ and confidentiality. To help employers understand these complex issues more clearly, each of the scenarios ends with frank and honest comments from real people affected by cancer and advice from Occupational Health professionals.
The Cancer in the Workplace resource has proved to be a real benefit to employers and everyone concerned with the project, including the writers, producers and directors, were delighted to find out it had won a coveted BUPA Foundation Award.
