Heehaw & The Gate team up for Kibble TV, Radio & Social campaign

Edinburgh agency The Gate commissioned us to produce a TV spot to add to their marketing campaign for Scottish fostering company Kibble. The concept, a child from the fostering system reading a poem directly down the lens, was already emotive enough, but the creative team at The Gate wanted to bring something fresh to the concept. As the main character reads his poem, words from the poem appear across his face and body in an attention grabbing aesthetic.

We achieved the look by teaming up with projection specialists Double Take Projections, using one of their cinema projectors to run a motion graphics sequence onto our star. To help in the conceptual transition from light to dark, and overseen by DoP David Lee, all the lighting ran on dimmer switches which we manually triggered at key points in the poem. The ad was well received after its broadcast run, and was backed up by both radio and social media edits.
